My own personal vision.
I’ve started a personal mission. And I
think it will bear fruit in the long run if I stick to it. In the following
months I will try to master Claude Debussy’s ‘Clair De Lune’, lose 10-15kgs,
write more often about anything and everything, pray more often ( at least 5
times a day), eat healthier, drink less sugared water, be more vocal, take
myself less seriously, be witty, think critically and live life to the fullest.
Yes, it looks daunting but what is life if one does not bite its plump fruit.
For the past one year, I realised I haven’t
done anything monumental or profound just yet; personally and professionally. I
spend too much time complaining; listening to people bitch and moan; caring
what other people think; get on facebook; idling around and so much more. I
find myself not doing anything worthwhile and it scares the shit out of me.
Steve Jobs said ‘ I want to make a dent in
the universe’. That he did and he did it well. I want that. I want to be able
to make a dent in the universe or at least in Malaysia. And whatever the dent
may be, it must be profound and positive. I want to enrich lives, help people
and make Malaysia well known for its beauty.
If not now when? Yeah, it’s ok to mope around
and feel sorry for yourself. Like how I did. But let’s stop for a second. And
look at yourself. You have so much to give to the world. Yes, I know that
sounds hoity toity, but believe me when I say that you can. Forget One
Malaysia. If you want to make Malaysia a safer and peaceful place to live in,
THEN DO IT. Come up with a brilliant Idea. Don’t ignore that itch to do
something.
At the end of the day, you set your course
to make your life better or Malaysians better. I hope I’m not digressing. But you
have what it takes within you to do things that are beyond your wildest
imagination (just please don’t shoot people in public, kidding).
However, to reiterate my point, I want to
do something fulfilling in my life. And I want to make sure every second
counts. If it makes an impact to me or to the people around me (for the better)
then I’m happy and satisfied. Even the smallest dent can make a difference.
I know how it feels. I look at my Proton
Persona every day and the small, tiny dent still affects me.
