My own sweet ride

The car was really embarrassed of this picture.

After 10 years of taking the LRT. Drenched in sweat and rain as I make my way there. Waiting for more than 20 minutes just to get on a semi empty train. Squeezing in the train like a pack of sardines. Fighting with aunties, uncles, grandmas and grandpas for seats. Cursing in silence as rude Malaysians cut queues. Sitting in trains that have leaks and all kind of funky smells. Looking at angels, freaks, geeks, dorks, perverts and sceneries from Keramat to Gombak to Kelana Jaya. Catching the last train and a few zzzzs until I arrived at my stop. The time has finally come for me to bid adieu to the LRT. Because I finally have my own sweet ride – the white Persona (1.6 and high spec baby!).

While this news may seem small to others but to those who know me, and for the longest time, they are very happy and proud of me. Only God and they know the things that I went through just to finally get this car. Financial problems, family problems, brother’s school fees, personal loans and deceased parents were some of the things I had to overcome.

It wasn’t easy.

Yet what really pushed me through to get a car was none other than my lovely girlfriend (whom I’ve been with for 4 years!). I needed to show her that I am capable of taking care of her. I knew she trusted me but I needed to reassure her even further. Whether this train of thought is the EGO talking, but as a man, I must show her parents that I am a decent guy, responsible and will care for their daughter. Pray for me guys.

I am beyond ecstatic. And I hope this feeling remains. A car is such a huge investment for my future and me. I prefect not to think about the future because it is filled with uncertainties. But now with my own car, the future doesn’t look too scary. In fact, it looks brighter. On a final note, before I wrap things up, to those who I owe weddings, parties, reunions, roadtrips, meetups, meetings, and etc; from now on, I will make it up to you. This car, is going to make my life a sweeter ride.
