Just a matter of LOGO

What is a logo? How does this one tiny object affect a lot of things? Why does it create havoc or peace? When is the right time that a logo can be used? Who determines whether a logo should be there or not? (scratch that one out. We all know who)

Once again excuse me for my banter about this specific topic, as there’s a good story behind it. And I’m sure it would interest those who are in advertising as a creative, account exec and the client. Today was just going to be like any normal day and I wasn’t expecting any surprises at all. Remembering about the anti drug campaign that was in 2 weeks time, I can’t help but talk to Emily, which is the person that is nice enough to give me coupons or vouchers as a goodie bag to the participants, and telling her that the McDonald’s logo are placed inside the poster as per said in the letter that is needed for the coupons. But suddenly her face turned white. That’s not good. To understand why, she explained to me that McDonald’s never agreed anything on the logo placement for the gig. They just only agreed for the coupons and that itself will take sometime before the 12th of August. This is the part where my emotions started to twirl and run around like a loose cannon. But calm and composure is needed. I was surprised as for I can remember she was okay with all these. However the next person that is going to be very emotional and distressful is the girl that asked for it, which is Azi.

She was shocked, afraid and panicked, which is what I expected. Girls. But this is all under control and the issue about the logo placement can be resolved. A common sense thinking is needed to be applied under these circumstances and I was trying my best at doing it. If they, the client are not ok with the logo then it should be hidden under a black sticker but if they are all right with it, then it’s resolved.

It’s no need for this kind of thing to go far-fetched until the point that McDonald’s going to call the college or even screw Emily and ask them to stop the show just for a simple logo. At the end of the day, it’s just a logo that is needed or not to be needed and either ways, it’s perfectly fine.

Everyone needs a logo to represent themselves whether it’s individually or for corporate usage. But at the end of the day, it still is just a shape or words that is being made up out of ink, color and design and freshly printed on a card or a poster just for the sake of display. Nothing more, nothing less.
