The Walking Dead is alive and kicking.
I’ve been binge-watching the Walking Dead
for the past two weeks. And I have to say this is a pretty sweet show. Zombies
aside, the characters are not only interesting but they have depth as well.
Think of the characters as onions. The more you peel off the layer, the more you
feel for these characters (and yes, sometimes you cry, too).
The Walking Dead begins with Officer Rick
Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) waking up in a zombie-infested hospital. Confused and
disarray, the out-of-luck officer escapes from the decaying jaws of death
(literally dead people!) Unfortunately his escape was a short lived one when he was smacked
in the face by a good Samaritan and his boy. When they realized they made a
mistake, they helped Rick to regain his strength and filled him up with the
zombie apocalypse back story.
Now, in its 6th season, Rick
Grimes leads a group of zombie-slayers to salvation. We still have the Alpha
male Darryl (Norman Reedus), Asian Hero Glenn (Steve Yeun) and the new additions
are the sword-wielding Michonne and soldier General Ford. As the writer/creator
Robert Kirkman adds more interesting characters into the show, I can only
assume that this franchise is going to last quite long.
While another show, Fear The Walking Dead, is
on air, it is only inevitable that the characters from this show will bump into
the characters from The Walking Dead. Oh Joy!!!
If you haven’t watched the Walking Dead, then I
recommend you to watch it immediately. Before the real zombie apocalypse comes.
