Dark Knight Rises: The Shortest Movie Review Ever
From Memento, to Inception and finally directing three highly successful Batman chronicles, Christopher Nolan has done it again.
In this movie, Nolan shows the fragile side of Batman. No longer the Dark Knight that strikes fear into villains, Bruce Wayne has aged and is now walking around with a stick. And 8 years have passed since Harvey Dent's death. But thanks to him, most of the criminals in Gotham are rounded up in the BlackGate - a maximum security for the insane.
However, peace does not last long. Once again, Bruce must take up the dark mantel and take on Bane. A nemesis like no other, Bane is smarter, younger and stronger than Batman. Not only that, Bane has a focus. Unlike the Joker who creates chaos just for the fun of it, Bane's entire focus is to destroy Batman. Every thing else is just a bonus.
Compared to the previous Batman films, this one is not only a well-written movie, but has so many elements of surprise. Plus, with the latest addition of Anne Hathaway as the Catwoman, Nolan has elevated the Batman franchise to another level. Which makes it hard for the next director to fill in Nolan's shoes if there should be another one.
With powerful lines being delivered by Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson, Nolan once again shows his mastery in storytelling. And while the lines are written in the manner to match up Heath Ledger's powerful lines as the Joker, Tom Hardy is equally capable of delivering phrases that are bound to sleep in your skull.
Nonetheless, it is a fine movie. Hopefully, The Man Of Steel will be quite as good. Since Nolan is the producer and co-writer on it with David S.Goyer.
