A reminder from the past. How wonderful.
It was 5.21pm. Which means I had exactly a few more minutes to waste. Rather than stalking other blogs and coming up with ideas for BMW, I decided to search for all of my work and organize them for the meeting on Friday. So, with a smile on my face, I happily plugged in my 500gb of harddisk to my computer and began my search.
Like a raving madman, I opened multiple folders just to see where all of my files were (and wondered why did I have folders with weird names such as "To Lick, To Change and Sucky Babes to name a few). During the search, I discovered something else. There was a file named "Shaking things up by Harminder Singh of Adoi Magazine" nicely tucked in between a porn video and an image of Donald Duck. Weird combo. Now the name itself got me intrigued so I opened it immediately - completely oblivious to what I was supposed to do.
With great anticipation,I read the document in my super slow microsoft words. Scanning through each word, I didn't a snicker appeared on my face. And a warmth feeling covered my like a warm blanket. I realized when I wrote this "article", I was still a young rookie writer. Trying to find my way in the advertising world. Filled with passion for greatness and nothing less.
I wanted to be the next Yasmin Ahmad.
This article revived my love for advertising. It showed how truly happy I was to be in this industry. And when I looked back, I realized I've come a long way to be where I am today.
Something that we all should think about when we joined this industry.
