Am I still not good enough so that's why I am ignorable? The 2025 Kancil Awards judging has started. Last year, I was invited to judge the Student Kancils, not because I was one of the best in the industry, but because I had connections. While it was exciting to meet other judges and serve for the industry, it felt as though a box has been ticked. From this point on, if I was not invited or nominated by my agency to judge, I would be fine. The truth is, I wanted to be on the judging panel again. Every year I keep seeing the same people judging the show. Granted, they have all won at Kancils, one way or another and have proven to be one of the industry's best, I can't help but feel that it is a club for the selected few. Even those who never won any awards were invited to the show. Is the Kancil Awards bias? I thought the criteria to be on the panel was to win Kancils and a couple of international awards? Which is why I am not surprised to see the usual young faces gracing...
